I'm an evangelist for living water.
I’ve been fortunate enough over the years, to have had a few sublime swims in the wild spaces of the Western Cape Mountains.
But I have also spent a large chunk of time swimming in blue chlorine rectangles.
And there really isn’t a comparison.
After 4 years of ecologically focused residential landscape design, I began applying the lessons I’d learnt towards creating spaces inside my clients’ properties, that captured the experience of being in those mountains.
Learning the fine art of producing living, clear, healthy water and the importance of an enjoyable design process.
Since my first natural pool project in 2019, I have been committed to working on one-of-a-kind water features and natural pools that have health and habitat integrated at the core of their design.
Beautiful, functional and meaningful systems, dressed up as small sanctuaries.
Along the way, I have developed a strong belief that they can be gateways to a deeper relationship with the natural world.
Providing a portal into seasonality and succession.
Materials for a weaver's nest.
The breeding ground of dragonflies.
A cool drink for a lizard.
Dining hall for a heron.
A mirrored surface for a sunrise.
